Halfway through the 2024-25 academic year, we are delighted to share the remarkable accomplishments of our Senior School pupils who have participated in various academic competitions. An incredible 103 Senior School pupils have participated in 26 international academic competitions in a wide range of areas. Their outstanding performances are a true reflection of our pupils’ impressive level of hard work, dedication, and intellectual prowess. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and would like to highlight some key successes:
Mathematics
Our pupils have consistently proven their commitment to mathematics, achieving remarkable results in a range of some of the world’s most esteemed competitions. In the UKMT Senior Mathematical Challenge, our pupils secured 8 Gold, 4 Silver, and 3 Bronze awards, underscoring their advanced problem-solving abilities and deep understanding of complex mathematical concepts. This success is complemented by impressive results in the American Mathematics Competitions (AMC 10 & 12), including a placing on the Honor Roll of Distinction.

Notably, our pupils also achieved highly competitive results in many other competitions such as the British Mathematical Olympiad, and the Canadian Mathematics League. These results highlight not only our pupils’ academic strength but also their ability to perform at the highest levels in challenging, global math competitions.

Science
In the sciences, our pupils have demonstrated exceptional skills and effort. Our International Biology Olympiad (IBO) team earned 6 Gold, 2 silver, and 5 Bronze for their outstanding performances. In the Canadian Chemistry Olympiad, our pupils earned the Global Merit Award and National Bronze. Their success continued in the Australian Science Olympiads, particularly in Biology (ASOB), where they earned top rankings. Additionally, pupils participated in HOSA – Future Health Professionals, demonstrating their ability to work cohesively in a team and share diverse perspectives. These experiences prepare them to thrive in an interconnected world, where collaboration and synergy are paramount to success in any field

Humanities
Our pupils have further excelled in the humanities, particularly in the World Scholars Cup, where they earned individual Gold Medals as well as many team awards. What’s even more gratifying is that all of our participants are qualified for the global round, we are looking forward to more good news in June. Their success in humanities competitions underscores the strength of our holistic education, fostering intellectual curiosity and honing their abilities in critical thinking, debate, and research across a broad range of global issues

Economics & Business
Our pupils have also stood out in Business Professionals of America (BPA), where they secured National Overall Team Gold, a testament to their leadership and teamwork in business challenges. Additionally, in the National Economics Challenge, our pupils earned Regional Team Silver and Top Scoring Individual Bronze, underscoring their strong grasp of economic principles and analytical skills.

Computing & ICT
Our Senior School pupils have also made significant strides in the field of computing. Participating in various national and international computing competitions, they have demonstrated exceptional coding skills, problem-solving abilities, and innovative thinking. It is worth mentioning that at the beginning of the school year, 40 pupils participated in the Beaver Computing Challenge organised by the University of Waterloo, with 4 of them achieving the Honor Roll. Year 9 Roger achieved a perfect score (90/90) while 5 others received Distinction awards. These accomplishments highlight the cutting-edge technical skills and creativity our pupils possess in the rapidly growing field of computing

Music
In addition to the many accolades already mentioned, the Music Department is proud to share that Year 12 pupil Emily has achieved the remarkable feat of winning the Upper School Songwriting Award at the prestigious 2025 COBIS Music Festival.

All these achievements are a direct result of the dedication and hard work of our Senior School pupils, the guidance and support of our teachers, and the encouragement from their families. Our pupils have demonstrated high levels of commitment and set a high standard for academic excellence, and we are confident that they will continue to bring laurels to our school in the upcoming competitions and academic pursuits. Let's join in celebrating their success and encouraging them for future accomplishments!
