Class Settings
Each class in the elementary school has a dedicated classroom with an all-subject homeroom teacher along with a Chinese homeroom teacher. The homeroom teacher is from a native-English-speaking country such as the United Kingdom, is professionally trained with the IB curriculum, and is proficient in all subjects at the elementary level. The Chinese homeroom teacher provides help across all subjects in Chinese so students better understand the homeroom teachers’ lessons, if necessary. The two experienced homeroom teachers prepare lessons together, collaborate on the teaching process, and work together to develop the student’s interest and enjoyment of the learning process.

Language Learning
CISK Elementary School also provides German and Korean language classes to children born to at least one native German or Korean-speaking parent. They will exchange five Mandarin lessons per week for their target language, to support the native-speaking parents to teach their family language to their children. If you don't want your child to miss out on Mandarin, they can select a Mandarin course during CCA time for replacement Mandarin!

Literacy Program
In our school, language development is a cornerstone of our curriculum. Our program is designed to support and nurture the literacy skills of our students, fostering a love for reading, writing, and communication. We believe that strong communication skills are essential for success in all areas of life. Through engaging and interactive activities, we aim to develop each child's understanding and appreciation for language. Our dedicated educators utilize a variety of inspired materials and techniques to create an enriching and language-rich environment. We encourage our students to explore, create, and express themselves confidently. Whether it's through phonemic awareness activities, storytelling sessions, or writing exercises, we are committed to empowering our students to become effective communicators and lifelong learners. Join us on this literacy journey and watch as your child's language skills blossom!
