Wellington College Tianjin Charity Summer Fair 2023
On Saturday 13th May 2023, the Wellington community came together to celebrate the annual Summer Fair, which was this year aptly entitled 'Learning, Growing, Thriving'. The event was attended by over 1500 pupils, parents, staff and friends of the school who came together to celebrate, have fun and support Wellington College Tianjin’s many charitable projects.
The fair featured a range of activities for people of all ages, including games, live music, food stalls, and a fashion show. Children were thrilled with the bouncy castle, face painting, and water games. The fair also had vendors selling handmade crafts, jewelry, and other unique items.
The highlights of the event were the musical performances and the fashion show, the latter showcasing the latest fashion trends and styles. The fashion show was organised by the college's Fashion Show ASA and it was a huge success. Models strutted their stuff on the runway, showing off the latest designs. The audience was captivated by the stunning outfits, which ranged from casual wear to formal attire.
Fusion
As with any charity event, many sponsors helped us by very generously donating prizes towards our raffle draw. This is always a highlight of the fair and there were many happy winners. In keeping with the school’s sustainability projects, this year raffle tickets used seed paper. The tickets can be planted in soil and will eventually grow into plants, leaving no waste behind. This was a unique and eco-friendly way to promote sustainability and environmental awareness.
We would like to extend our thanks to all our sponsors, booth participants, and of course our Wellington community, who turned out on what was a very warm day to support the College in this very worthwhile cause.
