‘Practically perfect in every way’. The Junior School entertained all in their performance of ‘Mary Poppins - a Summer Music Gala’. The children performed every scene with enthusiasm and conviction.
This famous, popular and colourful musical included all the amazing and talented children in the Junior School. The familiar songs were delivered in the most delightful way, accompanied by strong acting performances linking the story together.
The staff are incredibly proud of every single cast member for delivering this uplifting and memorable musical extravaganza. Well done all of you, and we hope you have a truly wonderful summer holiday!
This term ended on a high note with the summer concert, in which over 100 pupils across all key stages performed, featuring College music ensembles.
This year we put together a more diverse repertoire, aimed at making music more accessible. The concert unveiled with the school chamber orchestra playing the Blue Danube Waltz and selections from Indiana Jones, ending with an a cappella version of the 1st movement of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 sung by the Wellatonics. There were Classical music pieces, tangos, dances, rock and roll songs and the Little Voices Choir also performed two choral numbers.
The student musicians enjoyed performing to an audience who cheered from the beginning to the end.
